Associate Pastor – Faith Community Church
Faith Community Church, a caring, intergenerational congregation of approximately 175 in weekly attendance in southwest Iowa, is seeking a full‑time, licensed Associate Pastor to provide strategic leadership and oversight for our youth (6th–12th grade) and children (1st–5th grade) ministries. We are proudly affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). The Associate Pastor will be responsible for creating a vibrant, engaging, and biblically centered environment where young people and children can grow in their faith, connect with peers, and be equipped to serve Christ.
PrimaryMinistry Responsibilities
- Program Oversight & Direction:
Implement and oversee all programming for children and youth, ensuring alignment with the church's vision, mission, and C&MA distinctives. - Volunteer Development:
Recruit, train, schedule, and empower a diverse team of adult volunteers to serve effectively in all areas of the ministry. Create a strong culture of volunteer appreciation and accountability. - Teaching and Discipling:
Provide engaging, age‑appropriate biblical teaching and actively participate in the discipleship process of students and children. - Family Partnership:
Act as a resource to parents, working to equip and partner with families in the spiritual development of their children and youth. - Budget & Administration:
Manage the ministry budget, ensure compliance with all safety policies, and oversee necessary administrative tasks. - Pastoral Team Member:
Function as an integral part of the pastoral team, participating in staff meetings, assisting with overall church ministry needs (as capacity allows), and performing general pastoral duties as requested.
- Education:
A bachelor’s degree in a ministry‑related field is preferred; an advanced degree is not required. - C&MA Licensing:
Preferred to be licensed with The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). - Ordination:
Preferred to be either ordained or actively in the process of ordination with The C&MA.
- Ministry
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of ministry experience in youth, children, or family ministry. - Organizational and Administrative
Skills:
Proven ability to organize programs, manage logistics, and maintain an orderly ministry structure. - Leadership and Recruiting:
Demonstrated success in recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers; ability to inspire and lead teams. - Interpersonal Ability:
Highly personable with the ability to connect quickly and build trust with children, youth, parents, volunteers, and the wider congregation. - Professional Conduct:
Proven dependability and a professional demeanor. - Teamwork:
Strong collaborator who contributes positively to staff culture and works effectively under the leadership of the Lead Pastor. - Growth Mindset:
Teachable and committed to personal and professional development.
