Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its team.
Shift DetailsThe LPN will work either a P.M. shift (1:00 P.M.–11:00 P.M./2:00 P.M.–10:00 P.M.) or an overnight shift (9:00 P.M.–7:00 A.M./10:00 P.M.–6:00 A.M.) with a rotating schedule that includes working every third weekend. The LPN may be required to work outside these hours.
Responsibilities- Provide general nursing care to a high‑risk population.
- Direct acute and chronic nursing care.
- Health promotion, disease prevention, and health education across the lifespan.
- Treatment of patients through therapeutic activities.
- Provide psychological support and direction.
- Escort patients.
- Accurate documentation of patient behaviors and attitudes.
