The Landscape Technician will maintain the grounds and landscapes around all YMCA buildings and facilities throughout the year.

Essential Functions* Note:
The
* noted certification training programs are provided by the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley staff and must be obtained within 30 days of hire, if not currently certified.
Must have the ability and stamina to perform mowing and snow removal duties and other landscaping tasks which may involve, but are not limited to: sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time depending upon activity, climbing bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, twisting, lifting and/or moving up to 50-75 pounds, possess finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.
Must be able to physically operate power equipment required to perform landscaping and snow removal. Must be able to properly set up, climb and stand on ladders, scaffolding and platforms as needed. Able to work with chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, gas and other hazardous materials as needed. Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Able to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations in a quick, efficient manner.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment can vary from quiet to very loud depending upon the tasks being performed. The work is performed both indoors and out, and will require travel to various locations. While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
