Overview
The Cedar County Conservation Board is accepting applications for three temporary Conservation Workers. Seasonal employees will work 40 hours/week for the 2026 camping season, performing park maintenance. There will be two four-month positions and one nine-month position.
$15.15/hour and $16/hour. No other benefits are offered.
Duties- Park maintenance including mowing, trimming, painting, custodial
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance for restrooms, shelters, equipment and parks
- Safely operate a county vehicle with trailer and mowing equipment
- Assist with tree and brush removal from trails and parks
- Assist with natural resources and wildlife habitat management
- Assist with conservation program activities
Candidates must be 18 years of age on or before the starting date. Applicants should be motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Applicants should be responsible and able to follow detailed directions from full-time staff members as well as sometimes work alone with minimal direct supervision. Prior conservation job experience is not required. Experience with hand and power tools, power equipment, and trailer towing is helpful but not required.
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions and stand, walk, sit, kneel, and occasionally lift 75 lbs. Students considering or studying in the fields of Conservation or Parks & Natural Resources are encouraged to apply. Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Cedar County may require a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
