FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:

• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Complete inspections in 5-6 minutes on average.
• Finish each inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an Internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn an equivalent of $30–$40 per hour
.

Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but work is consistent month-to-month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
