Position Summary:

The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for leading all culinary operations, managing kitchen staff performance, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and creativity. This role oversees menu development, financial performance, and guest satisfaction while supporting Columbia Hospitality's values-driven, people-first culture. The Chef de Cuisine acts as a key leader in the property’s Food & Beverage program, ensuring the culinary experience consistently exceeds expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and consistency in food preparation and service.
  • Selects, trains, mentors, and evaluates culinary team members; provides ongoing coaching and performance management.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team and property stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and execute special and catered events.
  • Develops and maintains menus with creativity, seasonal relevance, and alignment to brand standards.
  • Leads department meetings and communicates operational goals, standards, and updates to team members.
  • Monitors guest satisfaction, responds to feedback, and ensures service excellence across all outlets.
  • Implements and enforces safety, sanitation, and quality standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Develops and monitors budgets for food cost, labor, and operating expenses; ensures fiscal discipline.
  • Conducts monthly inventory counts and verifies accuracy of kitchen payroll and scheduling.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Partners with purchasing to maintain proper inventory levels and vendor relationships.
  • Fosters collaboration across departments to ensure smooth event execution and operational efficiency.
