Salary: $70,000.00–$95,000.00 per year (approx.)

Purpose Of Position

• Dedicated on‑site maintenance technician responsible for one or a small set of farms, reporting to Production Operations Leadership.
• Responsible for all minor maintenance and repairs of swine facilities and equipment for Iowa Select Farms.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

• Adhere to ISF bio‑security, animal wellbeing, and safety policies and report any violations.
• Utilize the ISF Tools work ticket system to track all repairs and materials.
• Demonstrate trade knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and welding.
• Prioritize maintenance items based on urgency, with animal welfare items (feed, water, air, containment) at highest priority.
• Be available for weekend emergency maintenance.
• Ensure routine preventative maintenance for facilities and equipment.
• Maintain an on‑site parts inventory as needed.
• Repair and replace systems and components including curtain systems, penning area, feedline systems, ventilation systems, waterlines, roofs, siding, ceilings, light fixtures, receptacles, motors, heating and cooling systems.
• Operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, mowers, snow blowers, hydro‑clean machines, tractors, manure tanks, trucks & trailers as needed.
• Assist with well water pump repair, water meters, regulators, sewer lines, seasonal snow removal, mowing, weed spraying, and general site appearance tasks.
• Maintain a clean production location free of debris.

Work Environment

• Primarily indoors with occasional outdoor tasks in extreme weather.
• Involved in all facilities; comfortable exposure to all environments required.
• Work may involve loud noise, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and dust.
• Direct contact with animals may occur; bio‑security practices must be understood and followed.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate tools, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
• Read and write.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, including climbing ladders and gates.
• Perform repetitive bending, lifting, and hand movements as required.

Additional Requirements

• Independent work with limited supervision; initiative, organization, dependability, and self‑motivation required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills necessary.

• Basic computer and smartphone skills required.

Position Type / Expected Hours

• Full‑time; typically 40+ hours per week.
• Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges.
• Weekend and holiday on‑call rotations required.

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written & verbal) preferred.
