Position:Electrician
Redwood Materials is hiring a journeyman‑level electrician to support our in‑house Facilities Infrastructure Engineering & Construction team across a wide range of industrial construction projects. This role includes greenfield recycling and production facilities, as well as retrofitting existing operational facilities. While expertise in all areas of electrical is not required, a strong candidate will perform a variety of tasks from distribution power, lighting and control panels, to low‑voltage fire alarms.
Relocation support available.
Responsibilities- Work as part of the construction department, installing new power distribution systems, transformers, lighting, and temporary construction power and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various electrical components.
- Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to plan work scopes, install requested improvements, and troubleshoot problems.
- Consult manuals and interpret diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics.
- Perform a wide variety of job scopes.

- Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback to internal teams.
- 4+ years of journeyman‑level (or higher) electrician experience in industrial or commercial environments.
- Proficient with hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC, including conductor and conduit sizing.
- Experience with low‑ and high‑voltage systems up to 480 VAC (medium voltage experience a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience installing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical equipment and circuits.
- Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components preferred.
- Ability to develop parts lists, work plans, routing, and produce as‑built documentation based on drawings or field walks.
- Experience testing and commissioning work in accordance with Redwood Materials procedures and applicable codes.
- Willingness to perform job scopes outside core competencies as needed.
- Strong commitment to job‑site safety, including hazard identification, pre-task planning, and electrical safety best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams and all levels of the organization.

- Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs.
- Perform physically demanding tasks including bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and material handling up to 50 lbs or more as required.
- Work safely at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing stairs and ladders while carrying tools or materials.
- Stand for extended periods in active industrial and construction environments.
- Communicate clearly in person.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves at all times, and respiratory protection when required.
- Work performed in industrial, construction, and outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, and extreme heat or cold.
- Work may involve confined spaces, elevated platforms, and active construction areas.
- May be required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as part of regular job responsibilities.
The position is full‑time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
