General Laborer – Contract (One Year)

Working Environment: 100% Onsite, must live within drivable distance of Story City, IA – no per diem or relocation.

Your Day-to-Day: The General Laborer position performs multiple tasks to support the operational efficiency of the company. You will build Gaylord boxes, sort meters, surge shields, electronics, transponders, materials for auction, metals, and toner cartridges, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the property.

• Perform daily equipment maintenance in an industrial facility.
• Operate forklifts, skid loaders, tractors, and UTV.
• General carpentry and plumbing.
• Clean and remove trash from facility floors and surrounding exterior area.
• Ensure equipment repairs are done promptly.
• Follow procedures and all safety policies.
• Build Gaylord boxes according to specifications provided by the supervisor.
• Sort meters, surge shields, electronics, transponders, and other materials based on specific criteria.
• Separate and prepare materials for auction, ensuring categorization and tagging.
• Bale cardboard and wire jackets, following safety guidelines and operating equipment.
• Sort different types of metals using appropriate tools and techniques for recycling or disposal.
• Handle and sort toner cartridges in a careful manner to ensure safe storage or recycling.
• Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role or general labor position is a plus.
• Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move heavy objects.

• Physical exertion involving standing, bending, lifting, and carrying for extended periods.
• Work in indoor and outdoor settings, exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May involve working with machinery and equipment, with need to follow all safety guidelines.

The base salary range for this position is $30/hour to $34/hour, depending on qualifications.
