BUS DRIVER

REPORTS TO:

Transportation Director
EVALUATION:
Performance to be evaluated by the Transportation Director

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid CDL license and bus driver’s permit to drive a bus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Completed required trainings before interacting with students

• Compliant with all Federal and State laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
• Notifies the transportation director in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Maintains discipline on the bus and reports any undisciplined students to the proper authority
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus
• Transports only authorized students
• Discharges students only at authorized stops
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports
• Current on required trainings

• Keeps to assigned bus route & schedule
• Keeps assigned bus clean
• Reports to work according to assigned schedules
• Partners with the Transportation Director when necessary to address parents
• Exercises responsible leadership on out-of-district school trips
• Performs other duties as assigned
