Director of Transportation

Azria Health Clarinda is seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Director of Transportation to coordinate resident appointments and provide safe, reliable transportation for residents in our long-term care facility. This role is essential in helping residents access medical care and other necessary services while ensuring their schedules, transportation needs, and appointments are managed efficiently.

• Schedule and coordinate resident medical appointments, including physician visits, specialty appointments, and other necessary services.

• Arrange transportation based on resident needs, appointment times, and facility schedules.

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.

• Communicate with medical offices, residents, families, and facility staff regarding appointment details and transportation arrangements.

• Maintain accurate appointment calendars, transportation schedules and required documentation.

• Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure residents are prepared for appointments and have any necessary paperwork or information.

• Assist residents with entering and exiting vehicles and provide appropriate support throughout transportation.

• Maintain facility vehicles in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and report maintenance concerns promptly.

• Ensure compliance with applicable transportation safety requirements and facility policies.

• Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and compassion when interacting with residents, families, and coworkers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

• CPR certified.

• CNA license preferred.

• Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to assist residents with varying mobility needs.

• Dependable, flexible, and able to manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day.

• Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, transportation, or appointment scheduling preferred.
