The Role

The CNC Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing and advancing the manufacturing processes within the durable goods sector. This position is responsible for designing, programming, and implementing CNC machining operations to ensure high-quality production efficiency and precision. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including design, quality assurance, and production to develop innovative solutions that reduce cycle times and minimize waste.

A key outcome of this role is to enhance machine utilization and product consistency while maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards. Ultimately, the CNC Manufacturing Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives that support scalable manufacturing and meet evolving customer demands.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience programming and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials used in durable goods production.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for programming and process design.
  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies and manufacturing safety standards.
  • To comply with U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced CNC programming languages such as G‑code and M‑code.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with multi‑axis CNC machines and robotics integration.
  • Certification in CNC programming or manufacturing process improvement.
  • Experience working in durable goods manufacturing or similar heavy industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes to improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to translate product specifications into effective manufacturing workflows.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for machining defects or process deviations.
  • Maintain and update CNC machine documentation, including process parameters, tooling setups, and maintenance schedules.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing cycle times, tooling costs, and material waste.
  • Train and support production staff on CNC machine operation and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
