Job SummaryDeveloping and maintaining company inspection reports. Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards. Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law. Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for gage / fixture design (as needed), development and validation, including interpretation of customer drawings (Blueprint/GD&T).
- Ensure correct measurement techniques are used to inspect part per GR&R results and customer requirements.
- Review and inspect gauge and new parts.
- Provide gauge and CMM training for Operations and Inspection employees.
- Create any required WI for inspection of parts.
- Control the CMM program and ensure proper gauging is available for CMM fixture.
- Perform capability studies on parts, interpret data and report results.
- Calibrate fixtures/tools verified on CMM.
- Manage workload to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Identify and document continuous improvement opportunities within NSA.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Work extended hours when required.
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and concepts to assist in process improvements and participate in LSS programs.
- Maintainknowledge of ISO Standards and objectives as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills And Abilities
- Associate's degree in a technical or mathematical field, or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of quality and/or manufacturing experience.
- Self‑starter, able to think and act independently of supervisor, and innovate solutions to day‑to‑day problems.
- Perform computer work and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, e‑mail and Minitab.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- Knowledge of MSA to perform GR&R (variable & attribute) on applicable gauging.
- Knowledge of SPC to perform capability studies.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO‑9001).
- Honest, reliable and conscientious.
- Statistical knowledge, college‑level reading and writing skills.
- Knowledge of CMM operations including PC‑DMIS software.
- Detailed knowledge of problem‑solving techniques (Pareto, Fishbone, Brainstorming, etc.).
- Good communication and supervision skills.
- Excellent oral, written and auditory skills for training.
- Ability to read documents, blueprints, GD&T and data on a computer monitor.
- Knowledge of inspection methods and reading measurement tools and instruments.
- Flexibility and adaptability at a rapid pace.
