An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Marriott Motor Group as an Assistant Accountant. This important role sits within our busy accounting department, where you will contribute to an efficient, organised and accurate finance function. Working within a team of Assistant Accountants working closely with the Management Accountants, you will support a wide range of day-to-day financial operations that help ensure the smooth running of the business.
You will bring working knowledge of general accounting procedures, including bank reconciliation and both purchase and sales ledger processes. Experience with Kerridge/CDK and an understanding of the Motor Industry desirable, but not essential.
You will be enthusiastic, professional, organised, diligent, and able to work to strict deadlines with excellent attention to detail—both independently and as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare daily supplier BACS payments
- Complete Sales Ledger & Purchase Ledger tasks including posting receipts, internal credit control, issuing invoices, and resolving queries
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconcile vehicle stocks to manufacturer statements
- Rental department posting and reconciliations
- Process Manufacturer bonus credit notes & reconcile relevant balance sheets
- Finance Commission postings and reconciliations
- Complete month-end processes accurately and on time
- Produce accurate financial information to support business decisions
- Review specific general ledger accounts including journals & intercompany transactions
- Prepare and maintain specific Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits
- Have a strong desire to build a long-term career in accounting and finance.
