ABAS Manager Ipswich £50,000 - £62,000

A leading accountancy firm is seeking an experienced ABAS Manager to join its growing Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional to manage a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses while working within a fast‑paced and collaborative environment. The role offers exposure to statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and specialist outsourcing services, alongside the opportunity to mentor junior staff and build strong client relationships.

Role

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of Business Services clients with a high level of responsibility.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts for owner‑managed businesses up to audit threshold.
  • Oversee workflow management across your client portfolio.
  • Deliver excellent client service and resolve technical queries with senior support where required.
  • Identify business development opportunities and support wider growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain long‑term client relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while also managing tasks independently.
  • Provide quality technical advice and support to clients.
  • Mentor and support junior team members through on‑the‑job coaching and development.
  • Assist in achieving departmental revenue and profitability targets.
Personal Requirements
  • ACA / ACCA / CA qualified or equivalent.
  • Previous experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong experience working with clients across a range of industries.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
