Client Accountant; Practice

Position: Client Accountant (Practice)
Client Accountant | Up to £40,000 | Blackburn (Office Based) | Permanent ALF Recruit are working with a well-established accountancy practice in Blackburn, to recruit a Client Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety and genuinely likes working across a broad portfolio of clients rather than sitting on one set of accounts all year round.

You'll be managing your own client base, taking ownership of the accounts process from start to finish, and building relationships that go beyond just "getting the numbers done." What you'll get Up to £40,000, dependent on experience Permanent, office-based role in Blackburn Exposure to a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors from fledgling businesses to medium sized enterprises. The chance to build genuine, long-term client relationships rather than transactional work A supportive, established practice environment What you'll be doing Managing a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of their accounts and compliance work Preparing statutory and management accounts for a range of businesses Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, and supporting with tax compliance where required Liaising directly with clients to discuss their figures, queries and ongoing needs Supporting junior team members and reviewing work where appropriate Picking up ad hoc advisory or project work as it arises within the practice What we're looking for Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or AAT), or qualified by experience Proven experience within a practice environment, ideally with client-facing responsibility Strong technical accounts preparation skills across a variety of client types Confident communicator, comfortable building relationships directly with clients Well organised, able to manage a varied portfolio and competing deadlines
