Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are working in partnership with a Local Authority client to recruit a highly organised and detail-focused Administrator to support their busy Housing / Garages Team on an initial 8-week assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong administrator who thrives in a process-driven environment and can confidently manage high volumes of work with accuracy.

The Role You will play

You will play a key part in supporting the effective management of the council's garage stock, helping to maximise occupancy and income while ensuring a smooth and efficient service for residents.

  • Processing garage tenancy terminations (e.g. when residents no longer require a garage)
  • Handling a high volume of garage applications (approx. 170), including online processing and system checks
  • Maintaining accurate records across multiple platforms, ensuring clear notes and audit trails
  • Managing a busy shared inbox, responding to all garage-related enquiries
  • Raising Purchase Orders (POs) and supporting day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Assisting with income collection processes and monitoring arrears (current and former accounts)
  • Supporting improvements to data, mapping, and stock utilisation processes
  • Providing general administrative support to the manager and wider team
About You
  • Proven experience in a strong administrative role, ideally within housing or local government
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and databases
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of work
  • Organised, methodical, and able to follow processes accurately
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Experience with Open Housing would be highly advantageous (but not essential)
Working Arrangements
  • On‑site initially to support training and onboarding
  • Transition to a hybrid model (2-3 days office-based) once confident in the role

If you're a capable administrator who enjoys structured, meaningful work and wants to make an impact within a local authority setting, we'd love to hear from you. Apply now for an immediate start.
