This is a great opportunity to support local democracy at Suffolk County Council as a Senior Administrator in Democratic Services

Your role and responsibilities- Acting as the first point of contact for councillors, members of the public and staff through the councillor service helpdesk
- Managing multiple inboxes covering a broad range of queries and issues
- Running budget reports using Oracle Fusion and reconciling spend
- Administering Councillor Locality Budget Grants
- Processing Councillor Expense claims
- Maintaining the democracy and governance pages on the Council's website
- Updating the democratic information on the Council's Intranet for staff and councillors
- Handling and recording petitions using an established procedure
- an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing and supporting workloads as required
- excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail
- an understanding of the distinct roles of councillors and officers
- confidence using Microsoft Office applications and editing webpages (training will be provided)
- commitment to delivering high standards of customer service
- knowledge of local government and political awareness is desirable.

The teamThe Democratic Services Team provides a range of administrational support services to Councillors, officers, and members of the public. We are a small, friendly and supportive team that comprises of range of roles all of which support the governance of the Council.
