About the Role
The Holbrook and Shotley Practice, in Ipswich, is seeking an organised and professional receptionist to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. This role is to cover 2.5 days per week but we can consider two receptionists.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Greeting and directing all patients.
- Making appointments.
- Answering queries and complaints from patients and outside agencies, signposting to the appropriate staff member as appropriate.
- Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.
- Advising patients of practice procedures.
- Registering new patients.
- Accurately maintaining patient database and records, photocopying, filing and scanning.
- Excellent communication skills, with a patient-focussed attitude
- A quick learner with good IT skills and excellent attention to detail
- Helpful and friendly manner is essential, with the ability to work well with others
- Primary care/healthcare experience would be desirable
- Flexible to cover for sickness and holidays
The Holbrook and Shotley Practice is a GP Practice across two surgery sites. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care to our 8,000 patients. Our practice team is comprised of three GP partners, two salaried GPs, supported by a highly experienced team of nurses, dispensers, paramedics and reception team.
