Your role and responsibilitiesStep into a dynamic position at the heart of our Procurement Helpdesk, where no two days are the same and your expertise truly makes an impact.
As a Procurement Systems Support Officer, you will be the friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact for staff across Suffolk County Council and partner organisations ensuring consistent Helpdesk cover and delivering swift, accurate support on Suffolk Sourcing, Procurement Cards and Oracle (P2P).
You’ll play a vital role in keeping our procurement operations running smoothly: producing and publishing files in line with Government transparency code and deadlines, supporting Procurement Business Partners with insightful data and reports, and offering clear analysis on supplier spend and market intelligence.
You’ll also support Directorates to manage their own quotations and tenders, helping them navigate procurement processes and achieve best value outcomes.

You will need- Good communication skills with a positive attitude to deliver a high standard of customer care.
- The ability to solve problems and deal with enquiries from a variety of people.
- Excellent IT skills and organisational skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative and to plan, prioritise and manage your own and the team's workload as required.

The teamYou will report to the Procurement System and Intelligence Support Manager and sit within the Procurement Team, which provides a professional Procurement support service to the Council.
The team play a key role in the strategic management of the Council's wholly owned companies, delivering commercial challenge ensuring all service provisions are cost effective and efficient, and providing the best return for the Council and the people of Suffolk.
The team supports Directorates with their own tenders and quotations for low-risk procurement, with support from a procurement helpdesk including the use of on-line templates, procurement systems as well as training and development opportunities.
