We're looking for an ambitious Assistant Trade Development Manager to support the Trade Manager in leading a IPAK, Red Sea, East Africa & Indian Ocean Trade Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with commercial shipping or trade experience who enjoys building relationships, analysing market trends, developing people, and helping shape the success of key international trade lanes.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you'll play a vital role in driving trade performance, supporting strategic initiatives, improving customer experience and helping the department achieve its commercial objectives.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the Trade Manager to maximise growth and commercial opportunities across the trade.
  • Leading, coaching and developing team members through regular one-to-ones, training and performance reviews.
  • Monitoring team performance and helping drive continuous improvement.
  • Preparing reports, market analysis and performance statistics to support business decisions.
  • Managing internal and external meetings with confidence and professionalism.
  • Working collaboratively with departments across the business to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Supporting the implementation of new initiatives, process improvements and trade strategies.
You'll ideally have:
  • Experience with in shipping, trade management or freight forwarding.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Experience producing reports and interpreting performance data.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to influence, motivate and develop others.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
