An established Alternative Provision in Ipswich, Suffolk, is seeking a dedicated SEN / SEMH Teacher to join their supportive team and help transform the lives of young people who benefit from a personalised, holistic approach to learning.
About the RoleWe are looking for an inspiring teacher with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will:
- Deliver engaging, tailored learning to small groups or 1:1
- Support pupils presenting with behavioural, social, or emotional barriers
- Foster positive relationships, emotional regulation, and independence
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
- Contribute to personalised learning plans and progress reviews
- A warm, collaborative, and supportive staff team
- Small class sizes allowing genuine impact
- Tailored CPD in SEN, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support
- Opportunities for progression within a growing provision
- A values-driven environment that prioritises wellbeing for students and staff
- Are a qualified teacher
- Have experience with SEN, SEMH, or Alternative Provision settings
- Are patient, calm, resilient, and empathetic
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with young people
- Have a passion for removing barriers to learning and helping pupils thrive
