Your role and responsibilities
  • Work with pupils 1‑to‑1 or in groups, sometimes in their homes, to plan and deliver blended learning via Microsoft Teams.
  • Work with a team of specialist teachers experienced in working with a range of pupils with special educational and emotional needs.
  • Model positive attitudes and relationships to young people and establish a caring, safe and stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other professionals, parents/carers and Local Authority staff.
  • Respond to the issues that may be affecting the young people's ability to access the curriculum and support them appropriately.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Strong commitment to social inclusion and equality of opportunity.
  • Ability to inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Resilient, self‑motivated, creative and flexible approach.
  • Experience as a competent teacher working with vulnerable pupils.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational and emotional needs.
  • Experience of managing potentially challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working in a specialist setting desirable but not essential.
