Head of Built Environment Higher-Level Skills (on-site)
This position is a permanent, full‑time role based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich. The incumbent will lead the operational and strategic aspects of our Built Environment Higher Level Skills programmes across Engineering, Construction & Building Technologies, and will also deliver teaching hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop staff to deliver an exceptional learner experience.
- Support and develop programme design and delivery in alignment with T Levels, Apprenticeship standards, commercial courses, HE and higher-level programmes.
- Build and maintain effective, sustainable relationships with employers and stakeholders.
- Apply creative and innovative approaches to enhance student experience and outcomes.
- Deliver specified teaching hours and demonstrate proven teaching expertise.
Required qualifications:
- Relevant degree or professional qualification.
- Mathematics and English at level 2 or equivalent.
- Teaching qualification at level 5.
- Demonstrated people management and development skills.
Other information:
- Working hours:
35 hours per week (including some teaching), 52 weeks per year. - Salary: £45,003 – £51,846 per annum (starting salary subject to college assessment process).
- Ability to work across multiple campuses; commuting between sites required.
- Right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship.
