🔧 About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a collaborative and forward-thinking building services team.

This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical design across a diverse range of public and private sector projects, delivering sustainable and technically robust solutions from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and specification of mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic water services
Deliver projects through RIBA Stages 1-6, ensuring compliance with current regulations and best practices
Coordinate with internal disciplines (electrical, architectural, structural) and external stakeholders (clients, contractors, consultants)
Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians within the team
Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections as required
Contribute to fee proposals, resource planning, and project programming
Ensure designs are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard
Support the development of low-carbon and energy-efficient design strategies
🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
Chartered or working toward CEng status with a relevant institution (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE)
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services design
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guides, and design codes
Proficient in designing software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, and IES/TAS
Experience working on education, healthcare, residential, or public sector projects is advantageous.
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
