About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Site Manager (OHL) with strong PCSM/NG experience to join our team delivering the BYNO Project in Assington, Suffolk. This is a pivotal site leadership role responsible for delivering construction activities safely and sustainably while supporting the Project Team in achieving successful project outcomes from initiation through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver site activities in line with programme, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Take sectional/partial accountability for successful project delivery including:
- Initiation
- Planning
- Design coordination
- Delivery
- Monitoring and control
- Commissioning
- Handover and close-out
- Safely and sustainably deliver construction works
- Manage site resources, including labour, plant, and subcontractors
- Monitor works to ensure full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Produce accurate and timely site records and documentation
- Lead, manage and support the workforce, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture
- Support and assist the Project Manager / Project Director in achieving project objectives
- Act as a change agent, inspiring and leading a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals
- Determine the most appropriate solutions to satisfy customer and project requirements, balancing time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits
- Attend periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL
- Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles
- Helps to ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost effective decisions in line with overall strategy
- Helps to ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinated working
- Knowledge and experience of discipline
- Implement technical information and drawings into delivery
- Understand and specify plant and equipment requirements

- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation
- Partially responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain
- Carry out periodic Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety initiatives
- Support Accident/Incident Investigations
- Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement solutions
- Upkeep of welfare requirements
- Write RAMS and accept subcontractor RAMS
- Identifying, raising and reporting risks and hazards
- Ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce
- Reinforce golden rules
- Understand, control and issue safety documentation
- Promote behavioural safety
- Help to develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests
