Service & Installation Engineer

50% International/UK Travel, 50% Factory Based

£36-45k + Paid Overtime, Door to Door Travel Paid

Earn c 30% on top of salary

A well‑established, privately owned engineering manufacturer with a strong global presence is looking to recruit a hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Service Engineer to join their specialist support team.

This is a long‑standing business with a reputation for quality, low staff turnover, and a practical, hands‑on engineering environment. You’ll be part of a small, experienced team supporting customers worldwide, combining international travel with time spent in the workshop.

Service & Installation Engineer
- The Role:
  • Installation, commissioning and servicing of bespoke automation machinery at customer sites (UK & International)
  • Fault finding and repair across electro‑mechanical systems
  • Working with PLCs and drive systems (fault finding and basic modifications)
  • Supporting breakdowns and planned maintenance
  • Factory‑based assembly, testing and preparation when not on site
  • Working closely with a small UK‑based team, with remote technical support available
Service & Installation Engineer - The Travel:
  • Roughly 50% international travel / 50% site‑based
  • Typical travel across Europe, UK and further afield
  • Trips maximum 2 weeks at a time
  • Efforts made to balance time away with time at home
  • Door‑to‑door travel paid
Service & Installation Engineer

- The Person :
  • Multi‑skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical)
  • Experience with installation and service of special purpose automated machinery
  • Basic PLC and drive fault‑finding capability
  • Comfortable working independently on customer sites
  • Flexible and willing to travel at short notice
  • Based within a commutable distance of the site in Suffolk - ESSENTIAL

This role would suit a practical, hands‑on engineer who enjoys a mix of travel, problem solving, and working on bespoke machinery—within a well‑established business where engineering expertise is valued and individuals are given the autonomy to take ownership of their work.

Located in Suffolk, this role would be commutable from Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Needham, Harwich, Framlingham, Colchester, Ipswich, Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds.
