Estimator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell
C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low‑carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
- Support estimates in accordance with the SZC policies and procedures.
- Generally support the Geotechnical Estimating Team with the estimate development.
- Review SZC’s drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.
- Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities including supporting developing the risk evaluation from a pricing/budgetary point of view.
- Liaise with members of the project team & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.
- Support in developing from first principles labour, plant material, subcontract pricing within the Contractor’s Estimating Software Candy.
- Producing quantity take‑offs and scheduling from enquiry documents.
- Compiling elementary bills for pricing.
- Preparation of supplier and sub‑contractor enquiries for sourcing quotations.
- Compilation of graphics and text to include within tender proposals.
- Liaising with plant division to source bespoke items.
- Working within various electronic portals to submit and retrieve information.
- Support package handovers to operations.
- Proficient in the use of excel and similar software.
- Good knowledge & understanding of written English & mathematics.
- Mobile and flexible.
