Senior Authorised Person - HV Transmission

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support the delivery of major HV transmission projects across the North West, working on behalf of a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering works for National Grid.

This is a critical, site-based position where you will take full responsibility for the safe control, operation, and isolation of high‑voltage systems on live infrastructure projects.

• Carry out HV switching operations in line with approved procedures
• Issue safety documents, permits, and oversee isolations
• Ensure safe energisation and de‑energisation of plant and equipment
• Act as the Authorising Engineer on site for all electrical safety matters
• Work closely with commissioning teams during testing and handover phases
• Ensure full compliance with National Grid safety rules and project requirements

• Current or recent SAP authorisation (National Grid or relevant DNO)
• Extensive experience working on HV transmission or substation projects (132kV+)
• Strong working knowledge of switching procedures and safety documentation
• Proven ability to operate safely in live HV environments

• Experience supporting commissioning activities on large infrastructure projects
• Background working with Tier 1 contractors
• Additional authorisations or multi‑utility exposure
