East Anglia, SuffolkA Major Tier 1 Contractor seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of complex ground engineering and geotechnical projects across the UK. This is a key role within the commercial team, responsible for driving value, managing risk, and ensuring strong financial performance from project inception through to final account.
You will work closely with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners, contributing to the successful delivery of technically challenging schemes within major infrastructure, highways, rail, energy, and civil engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial management of assigned ground engineering projects
Prepare, manage, and report project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow Administer contracts, including variations, change control, and final accounts
Manage subcontract procurement, valuations, and payments
Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
Provide accurate cost reporting and commercial advice to project teams
Support and mentor junior commercial staff where required
Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance, and commercial best practice
About You Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or ground engineering
Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract (NEC3/NEC4 preferred)
Experience managing subcontractors and complex supply chains
Excellent commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project teams
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Membership of RICS or working towards chartership (desirable)
