Salary:
Up to £35,000 per year
Working Hours:
Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (35 hours per week)
Purple Line Ltd is a leading manufacturer of accessories for caravans and recreational vehicles. With a portfolio spanning caravan motor movers, security devices, and lifting aids, we're expanding the team behind our multi-award-winning OPUS range of self-inflating camping trailers and tents.
We are looking for a talented Product Designer (Product Development Designer) to bring creative flair and commercial awareness to a growing team. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking company, taking concepts from initial idea through to finished product. You'll work closely with designers, production teams, suppliers, and manufacturers, playing a key role in shaping products that are practical, well-engineered, and genuinely loved by end users.

Key Responsibilities:
· Support the design and development of the company's outdoor leisure product range, from concept through to production
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs for manufacturability, assembly, usability, durability, and cost
· Create clear, detailed drawings, diagrams, and supporting documentation using CAD or Adobe software
· Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing partners to review samples, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure the finished product matches the design intent
· Keep organised records of design iterations, sample feedback, and testing outcomes
· Write up engineering change reports to help drive product improvements and support production updates
· Follow up with product users to ensure smooth use in the field, capturing feedback for future iterations
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree, HND, or equivalent experience in Product Design, or a related design discipline
· Confident using CAD or Adobe software to develop and communicate designs
· Solid grounding in product development and design for manufacture, with an interest in creating well-engineered, real-world products
· Experience liaising with manufacturers throughout the product development process would be advantageous
· Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance creativity, functionality, and manufacturability
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
