Head of Finance - Technical

As part of an ambitious programme of change, they are seeking a Head of Finance ? Technical to lead our technical finance operations and ensure strong governance, compliance, and financial resilience. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance and working closely with the Director of Resources, the successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining robust financial management during a period of significant organisational change, including Local Government Reorganisation.

Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership on statutory accounting, treasury management, taxation, and financial compliance Act as a principal financial adviser to senior leadership, members, and committees Lead the closedown of accounts and production of the Statement of Accounts Manage relationships with External Audit Line manage a Finance Manager and provide strategic direction to teams covering technical accounting, treasury, insurance, income, and payments
