Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Analyst

You will provide technical support for reserving and performance monitoring within AXA's retail lines and help enhance processes and methodologies. Responsibilities- Support the estimation of current and future loss ratios, providing actuarial analysis to underpin reserving and loss ratio processes in collaboration with SBUs and senior reserving teams.
- Assist in assessing product profitability and line performance to support strategic decision-making across the retail insurance portfolio.
- Design and deliver analysis that supports strategic initiatives, ensuring decisions are based on sound actuarial judgment and data insights.
- Validate and reconcile MI data used for actuarial purposes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of reporting.
- Support process improvements and methodological enhancements to meet evolving business and customer needs.
- Contribute to audit methodologies, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards, including IFC controls and risk mitigation.
- Support the quarterly reserve reviews and monthly performance reporting, fostering strong relationships with SBUs, Finance, MI, Claims, and Strategy teams.
- Progressing through the Actuarial qualification (e.g., Actuarial Trainee, Part‑qualified or near‑qualified Actuary) or holding relevant financial/insurance qualifications and experience.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, ability to interpret complex data and technical issues.
- Good understanding of reserving principles, performance monitoring, and insurance accounting.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and actuarial tools such as SAS, Python, VBA or similar software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, able to influence and build relationships within and beyond Finance and Actuarial teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights.
