Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our Tax Advisory team, supporting an Advisory Director and Partners. This key role acts as a bridge between senior leadership and junior staff, delivering high‑quality advisory work, managing a small portfolio of clients and developing the wider team. The role focuses on corporate tax transactions and complex structuring projects while overseeing compliance work.

Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Advisory

  • Lead and deliver high‑quality corporate tax advisory services for M&A transactions, restructurings, international expansion and tax due diligence.

Compliance & Portfolio Management

  • Manage a small portfolio of clients, oversee corporate tax compliance and review junior team work.

Project & Team Leadership

  • Lead complex projects, coordinate input from specialists and provide technical guidance, coaching and training to junior staff.

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, support partners in proposals and maintain strong networks across service lines.
Qualifications
  • Strong corporate tax advisory experience focused on transactions and restructurings.
  • Proven experience in M&A tax, due diligence, and structuring.
  • Experience managing both advisory assignments and compliance portfolios.
  • Exposure to a wide range of clients, including large corporates and OMBs.
  • Some personal tax experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent client‑facing and relationship management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to deliver practical, actionable advice.
  • Demonstrable project management capability across complex assignments.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing junior staff.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies, CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience).
Additional Information
  • The role is based across Cambridge and Ipswich, with flexibility required to spend time in both locations.
