Mac Kenzie King are proud to be working with a well-established and growing business based in Ipswich, to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a role with variety within a fast-paced and supportive environment, gaining exposure across a wide range of finance processes.

The successful candidate will have around 2 to 3 years' experience within a finance role and may be studying towards AAT Level 2 or 3, with a desire to continue progressing professionally. Previous experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control will be essential.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and maintain an accurate purchase ledger
  • Raise purchase orders and reconcile supplier statements
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly supplier payment runs
  • Raise sales invoices across various billing cycles
  • Carry out credit control activities and manage customer accounts
  • Allocate incoming payments and process receipts accurately
  • Support monthly Direct Debit runs
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations
  • Manage shared finance inboxes and maintain accurate financial records
  • Assist with system administration across finance platforms
  • Provide general administrative support, including handling post and calls
  • Support payroll reconciliations and wider finance team requirements
  • Assist with ad hoc duties and provide cover during periods of absence

Qualifications and experience

  • Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
  • Experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a busy workload
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • AAT Level 2 or 3 (studying or interested in studying) is desirable
