About the Post

This role provides support to the Financial Management team – working closing with Finance Business Partners to:

  • Ensure the accuracy of financial information within the University’s financial systems.
  • Provide financial advice to Principal Investigators (PIs) and budget holders, including monitoring income, chasing payments, and resolving financial queries.
  • Liaise with administrators and finance team members across the University to resolve queries and assist with month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Set up and maintain project budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal costings and financial regulations.
  • Contribute to the review and improvement of financial processes and maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes.

The role sits within the Finance and Planning Directorate of the University. We are responsible for maintaining the financial sustainability of the organisation – working closely with other directorates as the Finance representatives, we:

About You

You will have:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work. Able to complete financial reconciliations, ensuring precision in journal entries, compliance with financial regulations, and consistent financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with colleagues and people at all levels.
  • Organisational andtimemanagementskills:the ability to manage multiple financial tasks, meet deadlines, and handle conflicting priorities professionally.
  • Problem-solving and initiative:the ability to address financial anomalies, propose process improvements, and work independently to resolve issues while seeking advice and support when necessary.
