Job Description
Purpose of the role:
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long‑term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing the client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
- Manage and grow client relationships, acquire new clients and identify and manage solutions to meet a wide range of client needs.
- Establish a sound understanding of client strategy through regular proactive contact and respond to client/prospect queries, identifying opportunities that deliver long‑term commercial reward.
- Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk.
- Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays policies and policy standards.
- Facilitate referrals to group colleagues where appropriate.
- Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, conduct performance appraisal and determine reward outcomes.

Listen, Energise, Align, Develop. - Provide guidance on cross‑functional assignments and risk mitigation, support resolution of escalated issues, develop new policies and procedures.
As a Wealth Planner you will play a key role in helping clients shape their financial future through thoughtful planning and investment advice. You’ll work closely with new and existing clients to understand their long‑term goals and provide bespoke solutions that support their financial and lifestyle needs. The role is part of our Wealth Management Business, supporting clients with investable assets up to £3million and helping close the Advice Gap in the UK.
You will use digital tools and platforms to enhance client engagement and stay connected to market trends.
- A recognised financial planning qualification at RDR Level4 or above – essential.
- Working knowledge of financial markets, products and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
- Ability to use digital tools to support client conversations and communicate in a trustworthy, clear manner.
- A careful approach to risk identification and management, maintaining high standards of compliance.
- Experience engaging with internal teams and external networks to welcome new clients and grow relationships.
- Broad exposure to the financial services industry, especially retail regulated products and asset management.
- Familiarity with pensions, investment advice and UK taxation.
- Experience managing risk within a client portfolio.
- Adaptability and curiosity in a fast‑evolving environment.
The role is deemed a certified role under the PRA and UK Financial Conduct Authority – Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the holder to keep mandatory regulatory qualifications compliant with internal company benchmarks.
