Competitive Benefits A highly regarded SME-sized not-for-profit organisation is seeking an accomplished Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who is looking to make a genuine impact within a purpose-driven organisation. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and ensuring the organisation remains financially robust as it continues to grow and evolve.
The Role As Head of Finance, you will lead and develop a high-performing finance function while remaining hands-on in the delivery of core financial operations. You will be responsible for providing both strategic insight and operational excellence, partnering with senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team Managing the annual budgeting and forecasting processes Producing timely and accurate management accounts and financial reports Overseeing statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes Ensuring robust financial controls, governance and compliance Providing commercial analysis and strategic financial guidance to senior leaders Supporting long-term financial planning and organisational decision-making Driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems About You We are looking for an ambitious and proactive finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
You will ideally have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification Proven experience leading and developing a high-performing finance team Strong financial and statutory reporting experience Demonstrable expertise in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach Excellent commercial awareness and the capability to add value beyond traditional finance responsibilities Experience working within an SME environment and/or not-for-profit sector would be advantageous The Opportunity
