About The Role

The Business Partner is part of a focused team responsible for all commercial and operational finance matters relating to specific contracts in the portfolio within the Healthcare & Education sector. This includes forecasts, month‑end and monthly reports, and contributes to the commercial direction and development of PUFM and the delivery of the overall business plan and budget. The sector finance team is supported by the Corporate Finance team, who provide support to the individual Business Units.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the finance contact with external auditors for all contracts.
- Appraise the operational activities of relevant contracts and new mobilisations to highlight operational performance issues to the CFD and Operations team.
- Act as the point of contact for the Operations Director, providing the financial support and business analysis required for the effective and profitable running of the contracts.
- Provide finance training to contract managers and their teams, and participate in operations meetings as required by the Regional Operations Director.
- Prepare management accounts and liaise with Corporate Finance and Operations to ensure accuracy of contract accounts.
- Produce, analyse, and interpret timely and accurate key financial and non‑financial reports and data.
- Complete monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Conduct performance analysis related to contract performance, including margin optimisation.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance reports for relevant contracts and assist with consolidation of BU budgets and forecasts to agreed deadlines.
- Analyse un‑invoiced revenue and aged debtors to ensure compliance with internal revenue‑recognition rules.
- Act as the finance SME for relevant contracts and develop strong working relationships with contract‑management teams and the wider BU.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., Dynamics, Power BI).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
