Payroll Specialist

Your new role As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the full end-to-end payroll function for over 210 employees, ensuring all monthly payroll activities are processed accurately and within strict deadlines.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll manage payroll through Sage 50 Payroll, process starters and leavers, administer pensions, SSP, SMP, PAYE and National Insurance, submit RTI returns and resolve payroll-related queries. You will also support the wider finance team with additional duties including invoice processing, BACS payments and financial administration during busy periods or staff absences. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you'll have proven payroll administration experience and a strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll.

You will be highly numerate, organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Experience of processing payroll from start to finish, a good understanding of payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions and HMRC requirements is essential. You'll also be comfortable working independently, maintaining confidentiality and communicating professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders. A GCSE in Mathematics or equivalent and at least two years' experience working within a finance environment are required.
