Financial Controller

Mac Kenzie King are looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join an established business, based in Ipswich. The contract is for 3 months, and you will be required to support the business through their financial audit, provide monthly management reporting, and manage a small team. This is a hands-on assignment requiring an experienced and reliable Interim Financial Controller.

The successful candidate will bring recent experience of successfully supporting an SME through a statutory audit and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Leading the day-to-day finance function and supporting a small finance team.
• Managing the year-end close process and coordinating all audit requirements.
• Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and responding to audit queries.
• Preparing monthly management accounts and associated reporting.
• Overseeing cashflow forecasting.
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of financial records.
• Supervising payroll inputs and pension administration.

Key Skills & Attributes:

• Proven experience operating as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional within an SME environment.
• Recent experience supporting an SME through a statutory audit is essential.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Ability to quickly understand business operations.
• A hands-on, pragmatic approach with excellent attention to detail.
