FINMAR is FINEX’s established portfolio broking model, operating across 15 insurer panels globally. Through specialist market expertise, focused engagement and analytical insight, we help our insurer partners deliver greater value to our Insureds and Brokers.
The Portfolio Management Team is responsible for the overall health, performance and strategic direction of our insurer panels. This includes managing the end-to-end panel process, from onboarding new insurer partners and assessing strategic and commercial fit, through to regular performance and sustainability reviews.
The team also oversees legal, financial and regulatory governance, ensuring panels operate within agreed frameworks and standards. In addition, Portfolio Management contributes to strategic initiatives and cross-group projects that support the continued evolution of Global FINMAR.
The Role:- Support the oversight of the performance and composition of the insurer base for the panels in one or more geographical regions.
- Assist with the periodic panel performance reviews, using data, market insight and broker feedback to drive strategic recommendations on panel composition, insurer participation and portfolio optimisation.
- Support the delivery of RFPs for FINMAR panels, evaluating insurer appointments and ensuring our processes and approach is best practice / fit for purpose.
- Analyse data and use trading and market insights (via meetings with Brokers and Insurers) to understand and provide subject matter expertise on the overall health of the panel and its individual insurers. Monitor insurer service levels, identifying the drivers of any underperformance.
- Support insurers, where required, to improve analytics or provide guidance particularly in relation to the data services.
- Assist with panel financial performance, including budgeting, revenue forecasting, accrual oversight and coordination with finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and invoicing.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders and also insurers and insurer prospects where appropriate.
- Support the management of the FINMAR contracts across panels, working closely with group legal and the insurers.
- Contribute to projects, initiatives and any other duties commensurate with position or level of responsibility.
- Be curious, proactive and keen to learn. This is a varied role with significant opportunities for development and exposure to a broad range of activities across the business.
- Demonstrate good judgement and an organised approach to managing priorities, seeking guidance where appropriate and making informed recommendations.
- Be a confident communicator, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and adapt communication style to different audiences.
- Show an interest in understanding the insurance market, client needs and business objectives, and contribute ideas that support team and business goals.
- Knowledge of insurance markets, products or market dynamics would be beneficial, but is not essential.
- Be comfortable working with data and information, drawing insights and supporting recommendations and decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Be able to understand and follow established processes and explain these to colleagues where required.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of Power BI would be advantageous.
