Financial Controller

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well established and growing business operating within the manufacturing and construction sector. This is a key interim appointment, initially for a period of 4-5 months, offering the opportunity to play a hands on role within the finance function and work closely with senior management and operational teams.

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site initially to gain a strong understanding of the business, its operations and the wider team. Following this initial period, there will be the opportunity to move to a hybrid working arrangement. Lancashire based. Day rate.

The Role As Interim Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day finance function and providing accurate, timely financial information to support business decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:
Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management Financial analysis and variance reporting Maintaining and improving financial controls and processes Supporting month-end and year-end processes Business partnering with senior management and operational teams Providing commercial insight to support business performance Supporting and overseeing the wider finance team Liaising with external accountants, auditors and other key stakeholders Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and efficiencies About You We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded finance professional who can quickly understand a business and make an immediate impact.

You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role

Experience with in a manufacturing, construction, engineering or operationally focused environment Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills A hands-on and proactive approach Strong communication and stakeholder management skills The ability to work independently and hit the ground running Previous interim experience would be advantageous This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and making a tangible impact within a fast-paced, product-led environment.
