The Role Leading an established reporting team, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely management information while ensuring robust financial processes and controls are maintained. Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the preparation of management accounts and internal financial reporting. Overseeing month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. Delivering high-quality management reporting and providing insight into financial performance. Managing balance sheet controls, cash, banking and key financial reconciliations. Supporting year-end, statutory reporting and audit activity. Building strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. Identifying and implementing improvements across financial processes and controls.
Supporting the implementation and development of new finance systems and reporting processes.
The Person We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with a strong background in management accounting and operational finance alongside proven people-management experience. You will ideally bring:
Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience. Comprehensive month-end and balance sheet experience. Proven experience leading and developing a finance team. Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial models. Strong financial controls and audit experience. Excellent stakeholder-management and influencing skills. An adaptable and proactive approach, with the ability to provide stability and leadership through periods of change. Previous experience within a not-for-profit, public sector or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience of finance transformation, systems implementation or process improvement would also be beneficial. The Benefits Circa £72,000, depending on experience. 12-month fixed-term contract. Hybrid working with a minimum of two office days per week. Flexible working options, potentially including a compressed nine-day fortnight. Performance-related bonus.
