Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Education and Training
Are you an experienced Clinical Pharmacist looking for a career change or your next challenge in an acute hospital trust?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our modern purpose-built facilities in Ipswich Hospital. You will balance clinical pharmacy activity at ward level with all required Education and Training responsibilities. Cross-site collaboration with Colchester pharmacy colleagues is essential to ensure consistency of practice and a uniform approach to staff development.
Our pharmacy team is dedicated to nurturing, mentoring and developing staff through one-to-one training, pharmacy forums, clinical huddles and other educational activities. We also support personal development plans, SMART objectives and study opportunities.
ESNEFT has recently completed a Trust-wide implementation of the Epic electronic patient record system, which includes electronic prescribing, administration and pharmacy stock control. Our fully automated dispensaries host the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines advice site and the Regional Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit, including a new aseptic facility.
Responsibilities- Lead all education and training activities on the Ipswich site and relevant cross-site initiatives within the Pharmacy department at ESNEFT.
- Develop, deliver and maintain locally-based education and training schemes for pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians of all grades.
- Lead ongoing mentoring and coaching of junior pharmacists and student pharmacists throughout their Clinical Diploma and Foundation Trainee studies.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal, cost-effective medicine use at ward level, minimizing drug wastage.
- Provide advanced-level clinical pharmacy services at ward level in line with pharmacy Key Performance Indicators and agreed clinical standards.
