Position
Applicants are invited for ST4 or above Tier 2 trainee or Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics at Ipswich Hospital. This post is fixed term until the 31st of December 2026.
Responsibilities- Attend to and manage paediatric patients presenting to the Children’s Assessment Unit, including referrals from primary care and emergency medicine.
- Lead ward rounds and attend paediatric emergencies.
- Cover the neonatal unit, postnatal ward, and neonate emergencies on the labour ward and theatres.
- Supervise and oversee tier 1 doctors and nurse practitioners on the Tier 1 rota.
- Commit to a general outpatient and a rapid referral clinic weekly, along with acute emergency cover as per the training timetable for each six‑month period.
- Undertake child protection medicals under the supervision of the attending consultant.
- Work closely with consultants who will supervise and support the appointee.
