Shift Pattern:
Our standard shift structure is 12 1/2 hour shifts (includes unpaid break)
- Day Shift - 7:30am-8:00pm
- Night Shift - 7:30pm-8:00am
- Homecare Shift - In the community (Hours vary)
- +30% Saturdays & Evenings
- +60% Sundays & Bank Holidays
- Competitive on-call rates
Permanent Contract
£38,682-£46,580 per annum, dependent on experience (salary will be pro rata for part time employees)
Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an experienced, registered Children's, Adult or Learning Disabilities Nurse to work within a multidisciplined team, delivering holistic nursing care and support to babies, children and young people with palliative and end of life care needs and their families.
As a Band 6 Nurse, you will lead the shift, taking responsibility for coordinating the team on duty, ensuring that all required care is allocated and actioned for that shift for that shift are in place and undertake day-to-day operational duties as required.

Job responsibilities- With bespoke training provided, deliver safe and effective nursing care involving use of a wide range of clinical skills including, but not limited to; clinical assessment and monitoring,subcutaneous syringe drivers, long-term ventilation and tracheostomy care.
- Support to babies, children and young people whose conditions are stable, unstable,deteriorating and in need of end of life care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans to meet the diverse and individual needs ofbabies, children, young people and their families, ensuring holistic care provided is family centred, needs led, evidence informed and meets all statutory requirements.
- Provide support to the children, young people and family members to promote their resilience and wellbeing, including at the end of life and during bereavement, giving advice on practical issues and undertaking memory making activities, seeking support from wellbeing staff when necessary.
- Maintain clinical records using both paper-based and Systm One electronic care records system in accordance with best practice guidance.
- Use clinical judgement and interpret clinical data to inform decision making, in consultation with others, to provide nursing care that meets the complexity of the palliative care needs.
- Implement symptom management, escalation and advance care plans, evaluating them in partnership with the children or young people and their families under the direction of aClinical Nurse Specialist, Matron, Head of Nursing & Therapies or Head of Performance &Delivery.
- Lead and co-ordinate shifts and undertake day-to-day operational duties as required,including providing the initial response to all accidents, incidents and complaints reported during shifts, ensuring immediate follow up actions are taken as required.
