We're thrilled to offer this fantastic opportunity for an Independent Living Officer here at Bromford Flagship Livewest, supporting our tenants in and around Ipswich.

As an Independent Living Officer
, you’ll be at the heart of one of our sheltered housing schemes, playing a key role in supporting our customers to thrive. This is a highly visible, people‑focused role where you’ll build meaningful relationships, provide practical support, and create a positive, welcoming environment for residents.

You’ll be more than just a point of contact—you’ll be a trusted presence, helping residents navigate their tenancies, access services, and feel truly at home in their community.

Location: Ipswich and surrounding areas

Hours: 16 hpw

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term Contract

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Acting as the first point of contact for customers within the scheme
  • Welcoming new residents and helping them settle in
  • Providing advice and guidance on housing, tenancies, and available services
  • Identifying safeguarding concerns, health & safety risks, and reporting issues appropriately
  • Supporting residents’ wellbeing by signposting to relevant agencies and services
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and sharing information where needed
  • Promoting tenant engagement and encouraging resident participation
  • Assisting with the smooth day‑to‑day running of the scheme
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service and record‑keeping ability
  • Knowledge of issues affecting older people and how to access support
  • Ability to prioritise workload, problem‑solve, and work independently
  • Experience with in a sheltered housing or similar environment
  • Basic understanding of housing services
  • Full UK driving licence
