Cloud Security Engineer

World Wide Technology Holding Co, LLC (WWT) has an opportunity for a Cloud Security Engineer. This role is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role
. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

This is a contract Role & Inside IR35

Ipswich, United Kingdom (Hybrid- 3 days onsite per week)

• Conduct thorough reviews of existing Azure environments to identify gaps and recommend appropriate cloud security controls.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations aligned with organizational security frameworks.
• Define, implement, and operationalize cloud security controls across Azure and other cloud platforms.
• Validate and test security controls to ensure reliability, effectiveness, alignment with security policies, and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed controls early in the design and build lifecycle (“shift‑left” security).
• Offer insights and thought leadership on cloud security best practices, emerging technologies, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Partner with teams exploring AI agents, AI-enabled workloads, and emerging technologies, ensuring these innovations are built and deployed securely.
• Help define guardrails and security patterns for next-generation cloud initiatives.

• Strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of Azure architecture, networking, IAM, security, and governance constructs.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, including implementation and tuning.
• Familiarity with Prisma Cloud (Palo Alto) for cloud security posture management (CSPM) and workload protection.
• Proven background designing, implementing, and validating cloud security controls.
• Ability to interpret and apply security frameworks, best practices, and compliance.

Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
