Principal Solution Architect

Salary: £75,000 - 90,000 per year

• Good understanding of OSS, BSS systems, Data platform, Fibre, Ethernet, SOGEA, SOTAP, Copper products, broadband platforms, architecture, and network EMS systems.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and protocols such as BGP/OSPF.
• Strong data-driven approach to troubleshooting and improving service reliability.
• Confident communicator capable of challenging and enforcing governance.

• We provide technical oversight, platform stability, and operational compliance for our OSS, BSS, Data, and Network platforms.
• We monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in a 24/7/365 environment.
• We oversee the lifecycle of strategic and legacy platforms.
• We ensure all changes align with ITIL standards, security policies, and SLA requirements.
• We monitor the performance of our OSS, BSS systems, Data platform, network capacity, licence thresholds, and certificates.
• We participate in on-call rotas to handle major incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• We create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and end-to-end operational procedures.
• We coordinate activities between engineering teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

This role focuses on keeping active services available, secure, and performant while managing legacy vendor estates and driving continuous improvement. It is a hands‑on operational position with responsibility for governance, incident response, documentation, and cross-team coordination in a 24/7/365 environment.
